Project: Enhanced Numerical Methods for Constrained Nonlinear Model Predictive Control.

Work Description: My primary research interest is the constrained control of nonlinear systems. Currently, my main focus is the development and testing of novel numerical tools for implementing NMPC in real-time. Three subjects that are currently under study are: 1) the use of sensitivity analysis to design warm start strategies for the solver, 2) the use of systems theory to ensure bounded tracking of the MPC solution given only one solver iteration per time step, 3) the use of reference governors to aid the convergence of the solver given a sudden change in the desired set point.
